Multiplication

At the beginning of this week, God dropped a word into my spirit for cell group: Multiplication. To be honest, I had mixed reactions. On one hand, I was very excited because the symptoms of the current cell dynamics indicate that it’s needed but on the other hand, I also felt rather tired.

I’ve been through so many cell multiplications and restructures, and each time it takes a lot of work, not only in the preparation towards multiplication, but even more so once the cells have multiplied to rebuild again. Many times it’s been exciting and even fun, but as I reflect back, it’s because of the teamwork and unity in the core team as we work together work towards the vision of bringing the cell forward.

As time passes, it feels like there are less and less leaders and anchors to gear up together. To be honest, even those who are around and come regularly have a collective phobia of getting involved when they see how the key leaders have to keep running week after week without catching their breath. However, it becomes a vicious cycle, which can get worse and worse as the key people take on more and the others shy away from responsibility.

The thing is…if everyone were to just work together cohesively in a team, it would energise each person and the individual workload would be relatively low because it would be spread out among many people.

Gone are the days where God regularly convicts His people to rise up and make a difference. It seems harder and harder to encourage people to take ownership and take a stand nowadays.

Or is this just a flawed perception?
