I want my man-chair

I want to get myself a nice man-chair for the new home to do my thinking in…or more likely, sleeping.

The movers have just moved the furniture from our previous place to the new apartment and everything is still in boxes and wrapped up in plastic. We’re not going to bother unpacking because of the upcoming renovations which will be done over the next two weeks since it will be dusty and there’s no urgent need to move in immediately.

We decided to leave half the furniture in the previous place because we have hit a road bump in the sale of the apartment – due to issues with the strata title, the sale can only proceed once everything is cleared up. So, while the process goes on, the old apartment will be rented out and we decided to leave furniture there in order to help facilitate the rental.

But looking at the new place, it’s going to be rather empty. There is one room with no furniture at all and the living room will also be very sparse with only one couch. So, once again, we’ll have to start filling the spaces, step by step and bit by bit, as finances allow.

Thinking back, I can’t believe that the wife and I only stayed in the previous place only one full year together after going through so much pains to set it up. Just over a year later, we’re already setting up another home from scratch.

It looks like it’s going to be a really busy Christmas season.
