It’s been one month since my last post and there have been so many things going on that it’s been difficult to find time to sit down and write.
So here’s a quick update.
Samantha is now 2.5 months old and she’s been truly such a joy. I love that she smiles when I talk to her and coos back at me. She’s been growing really well and has now reached 5kg.
Natalie is just…Natalie. Tons of fun when she’s in a good mood – irrepressible giggles, mischievous laughter and extremely smart - but super high maintenance when she’s moody and clingy. And she’s as likely to be in a good mood as a bad mood, as untamable and unpredictable as the weather.
Sarah has been just incredible. She’s breastfed Sam exclusively from the day she was born until today, and is now pumping sufficient milk even when after she’s gone back to work from her maternity leave. The amount of effort and sacrifice she puts in everyday inspires me all the time. Our 3rd anniversary just passed and I can't wait for more years where I can wake up next to her every morning.
Fitness-wise, I’ve done a pretty good job the last four weeks in preparation for the Viper Challenge…which is this weekend! I haven’t done any running but I’ve started doing circuit training three times a week in order to improve strength, power and endurance. After this weekend, it’s back to running with SCMKL, 2XU and SCMSG events left for 2013.
In church, I’ve just started worship leading again after almost three months break. Last weekend was my first time back. I was so nervous I think I almost died. I hope the congregation and the worship team are forgiving…Sarah and I have been trying to still attend Wednesday prayer meetings and our weekend commitments even with two kids, and even though it’s been tough, it’s worth it.
At work, not much has changed. So far. There were some interesting opportunities that came but each and every time, it didn’t eventuate, so it will be interesting to me how things stay the same or change by the end of this year.
In the side business, even though things have been rather slow this year, there have been some significant developments recently, where one of our original founders made the difficult decision to part ways with us after more than three years. And currently we’re in discussions to take part in an exciting, new start-up website as part of our project portfolio. So this area will definitely have gone through some major changes in 2013, hopefully for the better.
That’s all for now. I hope to be able to write more regularly after this blip. I’ve been maintaining a pretty good writing routine ever since I started this blog in January of 2011 and this is my longest break since the beginning so maybe that it’s just a temporary blip rather than a sign of things to come.
We’ll see.
