It's a...

We're now coming to an end to Week 16 and Week 17 will start this week.

The baby's hearing is developing already and can hear noises through the stomach. Apparently, there have been studies that show babies can recall songs sung while they are in mother's womb after they are born because of their response to familiar songs.

I'm currently still resisting singing to wife's tummy...

But since Sarah spends so much time at church, I wouldn't be surprised if the baby started dancing to the Trumpet song later on.

Here's the second ultrasound I uploaded to youtube. It's not as clear as the first one but some things are being formed already such as the distinct backbone and the limbs of the baby. It's rather shy this time round and spends most of the time hidden or with the head tucked on the knees.

At the same time, the doctor is around 90% sure that it's a...girl! This will have to be verified over the next few months but really I'd be overjoyed if it were a healthy boy or girl, with no preference on the gender.

It's quite interesting because around 99.9% of the people we've talked to have speculated a boy. Well, it looks more likely that we're going to have a beautiful girl. We've already selected the name but we're still working out the Chinese name.

The wife's tummy is starting to show slightly more although if you didn't know she were pregnant, you would probably not be able to guess it yet. But to me, it continues to reinforce that she's really carrying our baby and that our lives are about to change completely.

I'm still scared and still excited. But somehow, I feel quite happy.
